2021 Season

The 2021 race season will be a little different as a result of the Covid-19 precautions that Bogus Basin is taking. We will update this website to reflect as much information as we have available. Until then, here is a snapshot of what we know.

This season, each school will only have two regular races plus the Dotty Clark, and racers are limited to competing in one event. The goal is to limit the number of racers to 400 per Saturday. To take advantage of the high-speed quad for moving people out of the lift lines, the races have been moved to the front side of the mountain (rather than on Bitterroot Basin / Chair #5). To accommodate the location change, the race time also changed to 3:30 pm.

We will have parent/racer Webex meetings on November 11 and November 12 at 6:30 pm to discuss all of these changes. The same information will be discussed at both meetings. Send us an email and we will send you the Webex link. For your convenience, we also posted the links on this website on the Announcement page and on the Calendar page.

For more information about the program, you can also visit the Bogus Basin School Race Program website.

Recent Parent Questions

Q: When are practices held?
A: We do not practice. Ski club is competition-based, and intended to provide a amateur racing experience. Beginners are more than welcome to join ski club. However, we do not provide lessons or teach the students in the club how to ski or snowboard. Ski club is more for beginners who have had some ski or snowboard experience.

Q: Will ski club race dates interfere with other sports?
A: Ski club races should not interfere with other school sports. The 2021 race dates are listed on the Race Results page.

Q: Is ski club open to snowboarders?
A: Yes! This program has been running for over 50 years and each school has traditionally called it Ski Club. However, we've had snowboard events for the past 20 years. Some clubs call themselves the Snow Team or the Ski & Snowboard Team. We chose to keep it simple and traditional because Star Middle School Ski & Snowboard Team (STMSSST) seemed too long....
